Forensic Construction Engineer (PhD)

Description:Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Analyze and evaluate construction failures, delays and other issues in construction project schedules, construction project management and design specifications
• Review sub-contractor performance and construction project management to identify delay origin
• Analyze construction defect issues in buildings and other infrastructure systems by conducting site visits and applying engineering principles and practices in accordance with codes and industry standards
• Conduct forensic schedule analysis using critical path method and other industry-approved techniques and standards
• Utilize Primavera or other Construction scheduling software to determine critical path break down resulting in construction delays
• Review construction documents and work change orders
• Utilize industry approved methods and standards for determining financial impact of construction delays.
• Conduct unbiased investigations for various types of clients
• Provide technical findings and conclusions in laymen’s terms, both verbally and in writing
• Responsible for development and retention of clients
• Support conclusions by appropriate testimony in legal proceedings
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Position Requirements:
• PhD in Civil or Structural Engineering preferred
• Seven years of civil/structural experience
• Ten years Construction project management experience
• Vast experience with Construction delay claims
• Experience with construction law preferred
• Experience with construction scheduling software
• PE registration
• PMP certification a plus
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Ability to clime a ladder and maneuver in and on buildings and structures
• Ability to drive to site locations
